Our own birthing experiences inspire us every day

About Morgan

In 2018 I experienced a traumatic cesarean section when I gave birth to my daughter Audrey. As a first-time mom, no one had prepared me for how complicated and confusing birth could be. I knew in my heart that I didn’t want anyone to ever feel the way that I did that day, and I became a doula in 2019. After miscarrying our angel baby, Corey, in 2020, I became pregnant and had a successful vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) with our son, Will in 2021. I couldn’t have done this without my doula’s support.

My passion may have been born out of my traumatic experience, but it was my healing that drives my work every day because there is hope and healing in birth. My goal as a birth and postpartum doula and lactation counselor is to inform parents and parents-to-be on their choices during pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

Born and raised and West Irondequoit, I married my high school sweetheart and spend my time playing with our kids, crocheting, walking our dogs, and swimming. I am also a licensed Speech Language Pathologist with a specialization in pediatric feeding therapy.

About Rebecca

I gave birth to my first kiddo in 2012, guided only by my mother’s wisdom to believe in my own strength. My husband and I lived far from family and friends, and didn’t have the support or preparation we needed to have a positive birth experience. When we decided to have more kids, we moved back to Rochester and I asked my friend, a practiced doula, what I should do differently. Without hesitation she said “hands down, hire a doula.” The education I got completely changed my outlook on what it means to give birth. Delivering my second child in 2016, this time with the support of a doula, confirmed what I learned during that first birth—women deserve to believe in their own strength and take the lead with their delivery. Since becoming a certified doula in 2017 I gave birth to my third child and continued my doula education with The Matrona's Holistic Birth and Postpartum Certification, Certified Lactation Consultant training (CLC), and a certification in creating and selling Breast Milk Jewelry.

I am blessed to be the mom to three fantastic kids. My children make my life beautiful and adventurous and keep me on my toes. I have the privilege of being married to a great guy who supports my birth enthusiasm.
